Kent-grown JAZZ™ apples celebrate 20 years with another top taste award

There’s more reason than ever to pick up a British JAZZ™ apple this season.

The popular variety is celebrating 20 years of growing in British orchards after once again being crowned UK’s Tastiest Apple at this year’s National Fruit Show, held at the Kent County Showground.

It’s the eighth time JAZZ™ has taken the title in the past decade, with judges once again praising its crisp texture, juicy bite and perfectly balanced sweet-tangy flavour.

For Kent, the award is another reminder of the county’s vital role in Britain’s fruit-growing industry. JAZZ™ apples have been grown in Kent since 2005, alongside orchards in Norfolk, Essex, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, helping extend the British apple season from November through to July.

The anniversary is also a celebration of the growers behind the fruit. Over the past two decades, British orchards have continued to produce award-winning crops while investing in the future of homegrown apples, despite the challenges facing the industry.

The celebrations won’t stop with the harvest. Throughout the year, JAZZ™ will be appearing at food festivals around the country and launching a special anniversary recipe book packed with inspiration for cooking and baking with the award-winning apple.

Whether you’re picking up fruit at your local farm shop, greengrocer or supermarket, it’s another opportunity to support British growers—and enjoy one of the country’s most consistently celebrated apples.
