Macknade Elwick Place to Open its Doors

Macknade Elwick Place is set to open its doors this February. Macknade’s latest venture will offer an all-day dining experience that takes its guest from breakfast and brunch; through to supper and cocktails in the evening.

Macknade has developed a strong & loyal community of fans, both locally and further afield, since it was established in 1979. In Elwick Place, that community is expected to grow and flourish. Individual and communal tables located centrally amongst the service counters will provide a dining area where customers can engage with each-other and enjoy the informal and friendly space together.

The menus reflect Macknade’s Kentish and Mediterranean roots, using quality ingredients, simply cooked to bring out their natural flavour. This includes a selection of salads, sandwiches and cheese & charcuterie platters, as well as meat dishes sourced and prepared by Macknade’s award-winning butchers.  Brunch is served until 3pm and dishes from The Plancha (or grill) are served from midday onwards.

Fans of Macknade’s Flagship Food Hall can also expect café staples such as freshly ground Manaresi coffee, home baked cakes and scrambled eggs with crispy serrano ham. There will also be a well-stocked bar serving local & continental wine, beer, cider, spirits & soft drinks.

Whilst Macknade Elwick Place will mainly focus on eating in, shoppers will not be disappointed by the choice of products to buy & take away. The team have been busy scouring Macknade’s Kentish doorstep, and searching a little further afield, to offer a selection of daily essentials, specialist ingredients, charcuterie and cheese to enjoy at home.

Elwick Place, 2nd January 2019

“We’re delighted that Ashford’s residents will soon be able to experience Macknade Elwick Place. Communal tables, sharing platters and a bar will all feature within the space… perfect whether you are meeting friends for breakfast or unwinding after work” commented Pete Bowler, General Manager at Elwick Place.

“Our new site will celebrate and support local businesses, as well as our customers growing desire to shop & eat locally. We have a fantastic community of staff, customers & suppliers in Faversham and I am looking forward to building that same affection at Elwick Place. Our staff will always welcome feedback and new product suggestions to make it the best it can be.

“Today more than ever, people are looking to support businesses with sustainability and provenance at their core. These are two of the guiding principles for Macknade and these haven’t waivered for the last 40 years… and this is why I am so excited to begin the Ashford journey.”
