25. Potash Farm’s Cobnut Trug – Kentish Christmas Gift Guide

Potash Farm is based in the village of St Mary’s Platt, located between Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Maidstone. Their cobnut plantation extends to about 6 acres in total and is likely to have been planted in c.1900. If you have not heard of a ‘cobnut’ before, they are a type of hazelnut traditionally grown in Kent. The Kentish cobnut is a larger nut than a hazelnut and has a different and distinctive flavour of its own.

Potash Farm

Potash Farm sell their Kentish cobnuts at Great Comp Garden, Lullingstone Castle and on their website, alongside an attractive assortment of associated products and gifts.

We believe their Cobnut Trug in particular would make a beautiful locally-sourced gift or Christmas table decoration. They are available in two different sizes  – medium: 11” (28cm) x 8.5” (21cm) – £34.99 or small: 8.5” (21cm) x 6” (15 cm) – £54.99.
