Mother’s Day 2020 Gift Guide

Just a heads up, it is Mother’s Day on the 22nd of March and to help you spoil your Mum this year (after all she deserves it), we have put together our pick of the top presents from around Kent.

Simpsons Wine Estate Railway Hill Rose 2018, £19

A beautiful light refreshing wine for Mother’s Day.  Presented in a beautifully shaped glass bottle with an unusual glass Vinolok glass closure. Simpsons’ Wine Estate creates fine English wines, which reflect the exquisite characteristics of their iconic, chalk terroir in the North Downs of Kent. This delicate Pinot Noir rosé has fresh aromas of grapefruit, lime and lychee and displays clean stone fruits flavours balanced by a crisp mouth-watering finish. This wine was made from carefully hand picked Pinot Noir grapes which were whole bunch pressed, cold settled for 48 hours before racking, then followed by a long slow fermentation in stainless tanks using aromatic yeasts.

Lost Sheep Coffee Compostable Capsules, £3.95

Is your Mum a caffeine-lover or is she looking for ways to live more sustainably? Either way, Kent-based Lost Sheep Coffee have the ideal, inexpensive treat to say thank you to your Mum this year. Their compostable, Nespresso-compatible coffee capsules are available in three different flavours (including decaf) and can be found online or in select Morrisons stores.

Perfect for cocktails, these delicious slices of dried fruit just require Mum to pop it in her drink of choice, enjoying all of the flavour and none of the fuss. They are available in cucumber (ideal for Gin & Tonic and Pimms), lemon (best for Gin & Tonic, Vodka Cocktails and Lynchburg Lemonade), orange (suited for Bourbon, Pimms and Cointreau) and lime (perfect for Margaritas, Gin & Tonic and Rum).

Macknade’s Me Time Hamper, £60

This hamper includes plenty of treats for Mum, allowing her to really take some time out and feel utterly spoilt. It includes a Romney Marsh Wools’ hand and body lotion, Divine Delia Verano Candle, Holdsworth Theobroma Collection Milk, White & Dark Chocolates (200g) and Chapel Down Sparkling Bacchus (750ml), all presented in a signature Macknade box.

Nectvs’ Apricot Spirit 34% ABV 50cl, £90

Described as “a luxurious thoroughbred spirit for the truly discerning drinker”, Nectvs’ spirits are created from fruit grown and hand-picked from the Bardsley Estate, near Staplehurst. Their beautifully mellow fruit has been pressed and distilled, before being united with pure juice drawn from the same crop to enliven a distinctly natural flavour. These spirits can be enjoyed after dinner as a digestif, over ice or with tonic or other mixers to create a refreshing long drink. It is their Apricot Spirit that we think would make the perfect present this Mother’s Day. The spirit has bursts of sweetness perfectly balanced by zesty citrus, followed by notes of heather and almond. Nectvs makes an exquisite gift presented in a luxurious tactile magnetic soft close presentation box.
